Ensuring Excellence in Finland’s first industrial-scale biological methanation plant

I’m excited to update you on the progress of our methane plant delivery to P2X Solutions’ green hydrogen site in Harjavalta. As the project manager, I want to share the steps we’re taking to deliver top-of-class biological methanation technology, an innovation that is highly efficient.

I’m very proud to work in an organization that is leading the way toward a sustainable energy system. The delivery of our first important large-scale methanation plant is a milestone that shows that producing synthetic methane on a large scale is possible, marking a significant step towards shifting from fossil fuels to renewable alternatives. The methanation plant delivery is progressing according to plans. Our biological methanation plant is not just a concept on paper, it is concretely being manufactured and soon to be delivered.

Making sure that we deliver what we promise

Our dedication to excellence is at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we always choose our partners with care. We have partnered with Volter and Enersense to manufacture the bioreactor structures. These structures, carefully designed and built, will provide a home and an efficient environment for the microbes responsible for methane production.

During our team’s recent visits to Volter and Enersense, I was impressed by their commitment and expertise. Volter, known for their technical innovations, has been an important partner throughout our methane plant project. Similarly, Enersense, a provider of sustainable energy solutions, demonstrated their dedication to quality during our visits. Both partners’ expertise in producing high-quality steel structures aligns perfectly with our goal of creating an efficient methane production system.

At Q Power, we prioritize the well-being of the methane-producing microbes since their work is at the core of our innovation. It is important that the module structures manufactured by Volter and Enersense will meet our high standards. I’m happy to share that their attention to detail and precision engineering was evident throughout their facilities, ensuring the reliability and performance of our methane plant.

Further it proves that large-scale biological methanation is possible and efficient Our vision of a zero-emission energy system is becoming a reality, thanks to the hard work and dedication of our customers, team, and partners.

In some projects, these might seem like small steps, but this plant is the first of its kind, so for me, Q Power, and the sector of renewable energy production, we are talking about giant leaps. I’m confident to say that even though this is the first facility we deliver, it will not be the last.
